About TJ Tryon

Founder & President, Event Flow Solutions, Inc. 

The Athletic Journey TJ Tryon’s journey into endurance sports began in 1979 when he joined a local swim team. His passion for competition quickly became evident, and within two years, he moved to a more competitive team where he continued to excel through high school and into college. In 1986, TJ entered the world of multisport competition, placing in his age group in a duathlon. This early success paved the way for his transition to triathlons, which began shortly after high school graduation while serving in the Army. 

Competitive Racing Career TJ competed competitively in the Bud Light Triathlon Series before making the transition to long course triathlons in 2004. He embraced the challenge of 70.3 and 140.6 distance Ironman and other branded triathlons, demonstrating his commitment to pushing athletic boundaries. 

Coaching and Event Leadership From 2005 to 2015, TJ expanded his involvement in the sport by coaching and hosting long course open water swims, sharing his expertise with the next generation of endurance athletes. 

Professional Event Management In 2013, TJ founded Midwest Event Services, Inc., his race event management and timing company. His comprehensive understanding of endurance sports from multiple perspectives has made him uniquely qualified in this field.

Technology and Innovation TJ’s technical expertise spans 19 years in Information Technology engineering, complemented by his academic credentials including a Bachelor’s in Science and Math and his current Master’s in Computer Science from Harvard University.
